MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNED BETWEEN HORTICULTURE ASSOCIATION OF BHUTAN AND FEDERATION OF EXPORT ENTREPRENEURS NEPAL.
Today, the Horticulture Association of Bhutan (HAB) and the Federation of Export Entrepreneurs Nepal (FEEN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the horticulture sector. The MoU was signed by HAB President Mr Tshering Wangchuk and FEEN President Mr Shanker Prasad Pandeya.
- The MoU will focus on the following areas of cooperation:
- Supply Chain Integration: To facilitate the smooth and efficient flow of horticultural products between Bhutan and Nepal.
- Policy Advocacy: To work together to promote policies that support the growth of the horticulture sector in both countries.
- Host Seminars/Workshops: To share knowledge and expertise on horticultural production, marketing, and trade.
- Research and Development: To collaborate on research and development projects aimed at improving the quality and yield of horticultural products.
- Business Matchmaking: To connect Bhutanese and Nepalese horticultural producers and exporters with potential buyers and partners.
- Technical Assistance: To provide technical assistance to Bhutanese horticultural producers to help them improve their production practices and meet international standards.
- Market Access and Trade Promotion: To work together to promote Bhutanese and Nepalese horticultural products in international markets.
- Trade Fairs and Expos: To participate in trade fairs and exhibitions to showcase Bhutanese and Nepalese horticultural products to potential buyers.
- Information Exchange and Capacity Building: To exchange information on horticultural production, marketing, and trade, and to build capacity in the sector through training programs.
- Quality Assurance and Certification: To work together to promote quality assurance and certification standards for horticultural products.
This MoU is a significant step forward in the development of the horticulture sector in Bhutan and Nepal. It will help to increase trade between the two countries, promote the growth of the horticulture sector, and create jobs for Bhutanese and Nepalese people.
